K8 won the ECTEL 2026 Best Demo Award!

CONGRATS!

ECTEL (European Conference on Technology Enhanced Learning) is one of the most important stages for researchers working on technologies for better learning, and we were honored for our work!

Of 24 submissions, 13 Demos were selected, and three of them were shortlisted for the Best Demo Award.
In the end, our T4R Learning Journey Design Agent came out on top!

Our colleague Chirag Bhuvaneshwara presented the agent. It helps create personalized learning journeys in the field of Local Digital Twins.
What makes the system special:

▪️It reliably understands project-specific terminology
▪️It runs on European infrastructure (Mistral as the language model, OVH. for hosting)
▪️It suggests a meaningful sequence for selected microlearning units, creating a learning journey tailored to each user
▪️For each unit, it generates an example teaching structure, including possible methods and delivery formats

This last point in particular impressed the audience.
Not a paper prototype, but a system that actually works.

Our takeaway from the conference is that empirical evaluation remains key: co-design from the start, testing results along the way and user acceptance. We’re staying on it. We’ll keep working on our now award-winning project and are happy to share this good news with the consortium and beyond!
